Anthology Nearing Completion

  • Mar. 12th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
My first attempt at an anthology, courtesy of Anthology Builder, is nearing completion. I have space for one more story, possibly two if they're short.

*** Aliette and Sarah, this question addressed to both of you: Do you have a friend on the AB author list who has a story you'd like to see included? If so, let me know and I'll do my best to include them. ***

I haven't finalised the running order yet, and the introduction needs some work, but I shall probably finish the anthology this weekend. And yes, I shall be buying a copy!

:-)

Edit: Some Sherlock Holmes style investigation reveals that someone has already bought an earlier version of this anthology! Doubtless it's now a collector's edition ;-)

Since I wanted to get an anthology with Milford people in it, I went ahead and bought yours. Thanks for doing all the work for me. :-)

Well, I didn't make a suggestion before because I was thinking that you folks already knew everyone I knew at AB, but today I found someone: Clint Harris, whom I know through the Asimov's forum. Or, if that's too long, "My Wife, by Steven Utley (also through the Asimov's forum!).

Yeah, lots of people I already know in that TOC.
Try TL Morganfield (http://www.anthologybuilder.com/authordetails.php?byline=T.%20L.%20Morganfield). She has a wide selection of stuff available; the one I prefer is "Dedication", but it may be too long for you.

Thanks a lot for doing this!

Dear Aliette and Sarah: thanks so much for your suggestions.

When I made my request, I didn't realise that David Redd had just discovered AB. I met David at Milford in 2004 and I'd love to include one of his stories in the anthology. He has yet to load a story of suitable length onto AB, but when he does I will fall on it like a starving man sighting food. David's publishing history goes way back to 1966, when his stories first appeared in the (in)famous British 'zine New Worlds.

But thanks again for your suggestions -- they were excellent. It looks like I'll have to build another anthology.

I hope to close Two Degrees of Separation during the next few days. I'll let you know when it's done. The anthology has sold twice in its WIP form!

Cheers
